Underperformance of the Field of PI: A Rhetoric with Recommendations

This session discusses research that questions the slow progress of the field of performance improvement in terms of penetration and impact across business and academia through argumentation supported by literature and interviews of performance improvement professionals. The study juxtaposes a macrocosm of issues that exist within the field. It attempts to introduce a sense of immediacy among various performance improvement stakeholders. The study offers both a short- and a long-term recommendation.

More About This Speaker

Ria Roy is a doctoral candidate in Instructional Technology at Indiana University, Bloomington with a minor in Strategy. Her experiences have been in areas of strategy, setting up SBUs, commercial analytics and decision support, new product planning, and consulting. She holds an MBA in MIS, an MS in HFID, and an MS in T&D. Her research interests lie in the development of the field of PI, organization design, and innovation.
