Time-driven activity-based costing (TDABC) projects can be powerful drivers of lean transformation, although they are seldom used in this capacity and are typically limited to cost determination and allocation. Attendees will learn how the TDABC methodology can highlight process waste through practical examples from a large academic medical center.

More About This Speaker

Shana Dykema is an improvement facilitator in the Performance Improvement Department at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), where she serves as one of five lean/Six Sigma experts. In this role, she has managed implementation of multiple projects across the organization, including 5S projects in multiple intensive care units (ICUs) and medical-surgical units. She is a regular instructor for MUSC’s performance improvement courses, and has presented on various topics at other conferences across the United States.
