Performance Improvement and the Internal Consultant

Internal consultants play a unique role in driving successful change in organizations. Unlike external consultants, internal consultants face a unique set of challenges as they maintain relationships while “influencing” without authority. Even with these challenges, internal consultants can still do good work by committing to improving measurable results, using validated performance improvement methodology, and having a broad “toolkit” of results improvement strategies and tactics so that they can enable their internal departments to optimize performance.
