Innovation in Government Succession Planning: Case Study
Formal succession planning is rare in federal agencies. Regulations specific to government pose special challenges. This session will present the Federal Aviation Administration’s innovative Succession Planning Program that abides by both the letter and the spirit of the law while preparing successors for mission-critical positions and promoting diversity and inclusion. Challenges, use of technology, and lessons learned will be highlighted. Audience members will learn how to develop a succession planning program for their organization.
More About This Speaker
Anne Marrelli, manager of Succession and Career Planning for the Federal Aviation Administration, has over 30 years of experience in performance improvement and talent management in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. She earned a doctorate in Learning and Development from the University of Southern California. She has also published numerous journal articles and chapters in professional reference books and has made many presentations at ISPI and other professional association conferences.
